Abstract

This audit was set up to evaluate the current knowledge and awareness of the doctors at medical officer level and above in the obstetric and gynaecological (O&G) cluster with regards to gestational trophoblastic disease, a rare but treatable disease. A questionnaire based on royal college of obstetrician and gynaecologists (RCOG) green-top guideline 38 was created and distributed to the cohort and results were subsequently tabulated and analyzed categorically. Results have shown that all categories of doctors have managed to score above 50% on the questionnaire with the Associate Consultants and Senior Staff Registrars having the highest scores probably because this group of doctors has the most exposure to dealing with patients with the disease as well as them being closest to having just finished their specialist examinations. This audit not only helped to create awareness amongst our clinicians regarding the disease but also confirms good clinical practice amongst them.
