This figure shows age-specific mortality rates of malignant neoplasm, senility and pneumonia in 2019. Though malignant neoplasm is the most dominant cause of death in Japan, its age-dependency is relatively mild. Also highly age-dependent causes of death like senility or pneumonia exceed malignancy in the over 95 group. The average life expectancy of 84.43 years is also shown by the vertical dotted line in the figure above. This figure uses the data as of 2019, processed from the Portal Site of Official Statistics of Japan.
