Many small white PVC cylinders contain small, replanted ponderosa pine trees as part of the forest restoration project. The ground is populated with grasses, weeds, and small shrubs or bushes. The soil in this region was covered with an approximately 1-inch thick layer, consisting mostly of dead grasses and shrub or bush litter.
